Shtop shtop!

No more orders please - I closed down production on Friday, so there are simply no more poppies to be had.

I'm sorry to those that missed out - **sad face** -
... but I will be doing this all over again next year - **happy face**

The last batch for those who placed orders just in the nick of time, if you haven't received yours already, they'll be landing on your doorsteps imminently.

If you have any questions, you can email me at glitterpoppies2012@gmail.com

Once I know all have arrived safely and have had the last cash-in-hand payments from some friends, I will be making the big donation online to the RBL Poppy Appeal + Giftaid this Friday.

Not totted up the exact amount yet, as some lovelies paid a little extra and as I say, I'm awaiting on a few more funds, but we're definitely looking at the £1,500 mark as a minimum.

Yeah! You 'eard me! FIFTEEN HUNDRED SMACKERS!!!

**points to that big lovely number**

You did that.

I can't begin to thank you enough .

When the clock strikes twelve

In order for poppies to arrive well in time for Remembrance Sunday, I am closing orders at Midnight tonight.

I need to be able to make the last batch this evening, ready for the last posting tomorrow.

This really is the very last chance to order.

Those all important order details again:

Price Gubbins

£3 per poppy - I'm afraid no bulk order discounts as this is for charideee

Max order per person - 5 poppies.

Postage - £1.85 first class recorded delivery.. This is what the lovely man at the post office informs me.

Why recorded delivery? Well I underestimated the postage costs last year just for standard post, AND far too many went missing in the mail.
So Recorded UK delivery only.

I'm sorry if this has put any of you off. Truly.

Can I please ask that you only order what you need so that there's plenty for everyone.

What do I do?

You go to your PayPal account and select the option to Make A Payment.
They will ask you who you want to pay, and that will be me. All you will need is my email
glitterpoppies2012@gmail.com

You calculate £3 x up to 5 poppies, and then add £1.85 for postage.

So, 1 poppy = £4.85, 2 poppies = £7.85 and so on.

Please please please make sure your address info is up to date on PayPal or that you leave a note on the transaction of where you would like your poppies sent.

Any questions, please email me at glitterpoppies2012@gmail.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Please sir, can I have some more?

MOAR!!!

Right, I really couldn't take the pouting, glum, sad faces and tweets from those that missed out. You sort of broke my heart a little bit - so I have ordered new supplies.

New supplies which have just arrived!!!!!!!!!

Now, as I'm having to make this next lot from scratch, it will take me a little while to get most ready for posting. I do the whole 9-5 thing and am having to make these in the evenings/mornings/lunch hours, so please be patient.

Hope to get the first lot sent out on Wednesday. I've capped the order max at 5 again, so there should be more to go around.

Which means that orders are officially back open!!!!

My boys...

A reminder of why the Poppy Appeal is especially close to my heart.

My Boys.

This is my Dad on his passing out parade over 30 years ago, with the Queen AKA my Nan.

Dad served with the Army for 25 years.

This here is my kid Brother (at the front) and the lads in Afghanistan 2011.

They're sitting in wait after just driving over an I.E.D (Improvised Explosive Device) in the road.
They luckily walked away with minor impact injuries. The vehicle came off a lot worse.

He's just returned from his second tour. We're very lucky to have him home safe and sound twice in a row.

However, other serving men and women and their families aren't always as lucky, and this is where the Royal British Legion play an invaluable part.
They provide practical, emotional and financial support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present, and their families.

Buying a Poppy - ANY Poppy - means that the RBL can continue their amazing work.

Completely!

They gone!

*big grin*

Fear not though, I am working on batch number 2 and I hope for these to be ready by Thursday.

Soon soon

Hello you gorgeous lot

Orders placed so far will soon be with you. VERY EXCITING!

This is really a reminder of what you will be getting. A handmade glitter fabric poppy.
The stencils aren't punched out from any machines, I'm cutting them out by hand.
I of course try and make each one identical, however it's not always possible so you may spot very slight differences in each poppy.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.

For those who haven't yet ordered, please scroll to the below post for details on how to get one.

@glitterpoppies

It's that time again

Welcome to the sparkly space of Glitter Poppies.

You'll soon be able to see details of how to order your 2012 poppy, but first, a quick update on what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.

Some years ago I was lucky enough to get my hands on some gorgeous scraps of glitter fabric through work, and just as a little crafting experiment I made a few glitter poppies for myself and a few friends.

After lots of interest I began making more each year. In 2010 the scraps ran out, and so fresh fabric was ordered for the 2011 sparkle fest.
With thanks to social media sites and word of mouth I had completely sold out within two weeks, raising £1088 with gift-aid.

This year with a new design and more fabric at hand, I really hope to top that figure.

Having a Father who served and a brother currently serving in the armed forces, the poppy is and has been a staple accessory every November.
Poppies are not about being pro-conflict but rather pro-awareness. Being aware of the men and women of the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, and the respect they deserve.

The money raised through the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal means that they can continue to provide help and support to those serving and to those who have served.

Please visit their website to read more on the great work they do.
http://www.britishlegion.org.uk

Now I have to reiterate that I do not gain financially from this little fundraiser. Not a penny.
I buy the fabric and materials HAPPILY myself.

Just so we're clear. :)

I shall post updates of the progress in production and of course, details on how to order on Friday 19th October.

Big love
